What size is the priority bike’s hubs? The sizing will be 3/8 x 26 for both the front and the rear.
I am a Kickstarter Backer already. Do I need to pledge again via the BackerKit Pre-order page? No, the BackerKit pre-order page is for people who missed the Kickstarter campaign and did not pledge for a set then. If you are already a Kickstarter backer, you do not need to pre-order Nutlock again.
Do I still need a bike lock if I have Nutlock? Absolutely. Nutlock will only protect the wheels of your bicycle. Once it’s installed, you will only need to carry a U-lock to secure your entire bike.
Are there variations, or are all Nutlock keys the same? Yes! There are variations! Additionally, we’re working on more and more variations of Nutlock by the day to provide enhanced protection, making it practically impossible for a thief to get his hands on all the Nutlock keys.
Do I need to lock and unlock Nutlock every time I ride my bike? No. Nutlock installs once, and never needs to be touched unless the rider wants to remove their wheels.
Do I really need Nutlock? You better believe it. Over 50% of active cyclists will have their bikes stolen. This is even worse for bike wheels as a thief can steal wheels in less than 30 seconds using just a wrench. Worst of all, it costs $100+ to replace just a wheel on average.
Nutlock protects against every tool in the world right? Most thieves are lazy! The goal of a lock is to deter as much as possible. With Nutlock deterring every hand theft-tool we could find, you’re in great hands - a thief will most likely turn to the poorly locked bike right next to yours. That being said, we can’t say Nutlock will keep your bike absolutely secured and protected every single day from every tool for the rest of your life.
What is the Nutlock made out of? Nutlock is crafted out of high-end, corrosion resistant steel, imported from Germany.
Will Nutlock fit my bike? Most probably - Nutlock will fit a 9mm x 1.0, 3/8in x 26, 10mm x 1.0 axle. Or replace any front/rear 5mm quick release skewer. We will send out a survey for you to mark your bike’s wheel size before shipping out Nutlock.
What happens if I lose my Nutlock matching key? If you share the project on social media with hashtag “#LockYourNuts”, we will be providing a second free key with your package! So put one on your keychain and the other one in your secret box next to your diary. (If we hit our stretch goal, which is TBD). Also, you should record the code on the key somewhere in your phone. If you lose both, don’t freak out - we got you. Just email us your code, and will make sure it matches your name and address on record. Afterwards, we will send you your replacement!
What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
